Welcome to the web site of Turkish Packology Project
Turkish Packology is a wide-ranging project aiming to conduct marketing and promotional activities in target countries in order to improve the integration of Turkish packaging sector with the world market. Increasing the packaging trade volume, stimulating investments and know-how transfers between Turkey and other countries is one of the main targets of the project. At first stage, the project is focused only on the Russian market as a fast-growing market. The other markets will be included into the project in time.
In order to develop the trade relations between Turkey and foreign countries, exporters associations were established. These associations can be established at different regions of Turkey and in different sectors. Exporters associations are semi-governmental bodies acting as a bridge between government and business.
Behind the Turkish Packology Project, there are the exporters associations related to the packaging sector. However, the project is mainly conducted under the organization of Istanbul Exporters Association in cooperation with Istanbul Mineral and Metals Exporters Association. To read more, click here..

 21 to 25 October visit of Russian businessmen was held at the Istanbul Packaging 2008 Exhibition, which is one of the largest exhibition of packaging in Turkey and an important event in the packaging industry worldwide. The program was organized by the Istanbul Exporters Associations and Commercial Counsellor in Moscow by the decision of Undersecretariat Of The Prime Ministry For Foreign Trade. The delegation of businessmen, which included representatives of 33 large enterprises packaging, packaging machines, food and cosmetics industries showed a great interest in exhibition. Russian delegation led by executive director of the National Confederation Of Packaging in Russia Mr. A.G. BOYKO. (also the chairman of the Subcommitee of Russian Chamber of Commerce) The organization of such trips has already become a good tradition in Russian producers and consumers owing to fame and advanced structure of Turkish Packaging Industry. The Packaging industry in Turkey, occupies an important place in Turkish Economy and its production capacity up to 4 millions tons of various packaging products in a year. High quality products, its compliance with global environmental standards and convenient geographical position of Turkey, are the main instruments in improving performance of packaging industry. In 2007, Turkey exported a variety of packaging products in 180 countries around the world, which reachs the sum of 2 billion dollars. Cooperation between Russian consumers/producers and Turkish companies increasing rapidly year by year and such of these trips contribute the improving of collaboration.  The program was commenced with bilateral meetings between Russian companies and Turkish suppliers in 22 October 2008. In 23 October 2008 delegations visited the exhibition area and attended the activities about exhibition which organized by the TUYAP. At the beginning of its existence in 1994, the exhibition was conducted over an area of 1.000 square meters with the participation of 30 firms; in 2008 it was attended by 500 companies, representing 1300 brands over an area of 60 thousand square kilometers. This year more than 40.000 people visited this exhibition. Beside of the efficient work schedule, Turkish side organized a dinner and nice excursion around the Istanbul as the demonstration of Turkish Hospitality. Positive bilateral meetings, efficiency of exhibition and hospitality of Turkish side made a great effect on Russian businessmen, also they declared this program was so beneficial for them. Undoubtedly these programs are beneficial both sides. |
